Holiday Inn Leiden

An American success story

An American entrepreneur named Kemmons Wilson opened the first Holiday Inn hotel in 1952 in Mephis, Tennessee, USA after a disappointing family vacation. He introduced standard in every hereafter opened hotel two double beds, free overnight stay for children, air conditioning, a swimming pool, restaurant, telephone, ice cube machines and free parking. Although these facilities are nowadays very common, they were very revolutionary at the time.

The doors of Holiday Inn Leiden Leiden were officially opened in 1968, the first Holiday Inn hotel on the continent. Since then the hotel has developed and had a lot of renovations. Because of this, Holiday Inn Leiden became the most successful four-star hotel and congress center in the region. A good accommodation, atmosphere, hospitality, friendliness and personal approach to our guests are the ingredients to ensure this success.
